What the song "we can work it out" means to me

We Can Work It Out
The Beatles

A lot of people struggle in trying to see things in another person's perspective. That is what my song is about. My song is "We can work it out" by The Beatles. This song was made in 1965 and one of the albums it was on called Past Masters Vol. 2 came out in 1968. To me this song isn't only about trying to see things in another persons view but working stuff out and the title of the song proves it.

I can relate this song to the band because once John Lennon married Yoko Ono the band would always fight and only see things in one persons way... their own. That's why some of there lyrics especially the lyrics "Try to see it my way" and "We can work it out" relate to the band and what they went through in that period of time.

I can relate this song to my self because at my old school everyone always had to be right and never saw it my way which is why the lyrics "Try to see it my way" relate to my life. I can also relate it to my life because I am the person in my group of friends who always ends up working things out that's why the lyrics "We can work it out" can relate to my life.

I can also relate to the novel because X-ray and Theodore are always fighting which is why this verse relates to the book. The verse is "Life is very short and there's no time for fussing and fighting, my friend, I have always thought that it's a crime, so I will ask you once again". In that verse they are talking about fighting and that is what X- ray and Theodore do a lot in the book.

In the beginning of this project I wasn't very fond in my choice of song but now I found out that I just had to relate it to three things that were really simple to explain. I could relate this to the band, my self, and the novel with no problem at all. Now the next time my dad is listening to this song I won't ask him to "change the song" or I won't sigh anymore because I actually know what it's about now. I think that I actually like the Beatles now just because I know about them and before I thought they weren't the type of music I would like but now that I have actually listened to their songs I like them more than before. This was an excellent choice of song and if I could do this project again with a new song I would probably chose another Beatles song because they have a lot of meaning in all of their songs.

Song Lyrics- We can work it out

Try to see it my way
Do I have to keep on talking till I can't go on
While you see it your way
Run the risk of knowing that our love may soon be gone
We can work it out
We can work it out
Think of what you're saying
You can get it wrong and still you think that it's all right
Think of what I'm saying
We can work it out and get it straight or say good night
We can work it out
We can work it out
Life is very short and there's no time
for fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that it's a crime
So I will ask you once again
Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There's a chance that we might fall apart before too long
We can work it out
We can work it out
Life is very short and there's no time
for fussing and fighting, my friend
I have always thought that it's a crime
So I will ask you once again
Try to see it my way
Only time will tell if I am right or I am wrong
While you see it your way
There's a chance that we might fall apart before too long
We can work it out
We can work it out

Artist Bio. - The Beatles

In my humanities class we are doing a project all about music. In this part of it we have to write a lyric analysis. For my pop music project I chose the song “We Can Work It Out” by The Beatles. The Beatles career first started in 1957 in Liverpool, England. They are known for being a British rock band. Before they were all together John Lennon and Paul McCartney had always been together. Once they broke up with their old band and got together with Ringo and George. They were first called the Quarrymen then they changed it to The Beatles. Some of their most popular songs are Yesterday, Something, I Want To Hold Your Hand, I Should Have Known Better, And I Love Her, Let It Be, Day Tripper, Paperback Writer and, The Long And Winding Road.

They are from Liverpool, England. They met while Lennon was performing with his skiffle band and they were all preforming to. Now they play rock music and each song is about something different and there isn't one main topic on the songs. Their music changed because their songs used to be about love and girls then their songs went to be about politics. In the band there is Ringo (Richard Starr), John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and George Harrison. They all played every instrument and were very talented. They got most of their inspiration from things around them and even circus posters. Some of the people they were influenced by were Nat King Cole and Elvis. They weren't unusual but their songs were so good that when one song is listed on a list of songs the only reason why it wouldn't be at the top is because one of their other songs was number one.

They had a big impact on society because what ever they did people would follow or if they told people to do things they would do it. The biggest reason they broke up is that Johns wife didn't like the fact that he played music and then he chose his wife over his music. Then after that two of them died and the two that are still alive now are Ringo Starr and Paul McCartney.
